Walnut Hall Table
Designer: Maggie Eickhoff Interiors
Completed: September 2024
We worked with designer Maggie Eickhoff to create this custom black walnut hall table, a piece inspired by the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture present in the historic El Cid neighborhood where the home is located. The distinctive legs of the table are a special nod to the classic craftsmanship of Mizner-style furniture.
The clients envisioned the table as both a stricking focal point in the sun-drenched hallway that offers views of the Intracoastal Waterway as well as a functional piece for entertaining. To meet that goal, we designed a table that transforms to comfortably seat 8-12 guests when the doors along the hallway are opened onto the courtyard. Drawing inspiration from a table the clients already owned, we incorporated flip-up extension leaves while adding custom breadboard ends that slide into place and can be stored separately when not in use.
Whether displayed as a hall table or expanded for large family gatherings, the table serves as a centerpiece that combines thoughtful engineering with enduring craftsmanship.
